Where to buy materials in Amsterdam

There's a great market in Amsterdam, that I already mentioned in THIS PREVIOUS POST. Among the great shops there's a stall that sells ribbon, yarn and other haberdashery.

In Amsterdam is een fantastische markt waar ik HIER  al eerder over schreef. Op deze markt is ook een kraam met mooi band, en brei- en borduurgaren.

This same stall can be found at the Ten Kate market in Amsterdam from Tuesday til Saturday. However at this market, the stall is situated in front of the shop of the same owners called ZigZag. The owners are really kind and helpful, and the prices are low. They import much of their own goods, such as applications from Thailand and ribbon from Turkey. This makes for some beautiful and authentic stuff that doesn't cost too much. It's definitely worth checking out! You can also have a look at their website HERE. 

Diezelfde geweldige kraam is ook op de Ten Katemarkt in Amsterdam te vinden van dinsdag t/m zaterdag, maar op de Ten Katemarkt is er achter de kraam ook nog een winkel vol fournituren, ZigZag genaamd. De eigenaar denkt graag met je mee en de prijzen zijn laag. Ze importeren veel van hun eigen bandjes en applicaties, bijvoorbeeld uit Turkije en Thailand. Hierdoor hebben ze een fantastisch assortiment en kost het niet veel. Zeker de moeite waard om een keertje langs te gaan! Zie ook hun website HIER.

Blue Dog kaleidoscope

   

Another fun program is SUMOPAINT,  which I saw at IHANNA.  With this you can make a kaleidoscope from your own images, it's amazing and really fun to do. Select your language and off you go. Click 'open file from computer', select an image, click 'filters', choose 'distort' and click 'kaleidoscope'.

Een ander leuk foto programma is SUMOPAINT.  IHANNA schrijft hierover op haar blog.
Selecteer je eigen taal (dutch) bij de vlag en klik op 'open file from computer' en selecteer een eigen afbeelding. Klik dan op 'filters', kies 'verdraaien' en klik dan op kaleidoscoop.

I used some drawings from my sketchbook to make a grid. I did this using one of the many free photo programs on the internet.

Met wat tekeningen uit mijn schetsboek heb ik een mozaïek gemaakt via een van de vele leuke gratis fotoprogramma's.

I made the picture above with PICMONKEY. Go to 'create a collage' (next to 'edit a photo'), then 'open photos' en select some pictures from your computer. Then press 'layout', I chose Biggie Small, click 'images' (above 'layouts'). If you want to save your grid press save and follow the instructions.

Dit is gedaan in PICMONKEY. Je gaat dan naar 'create a collage' (naast 'edit a photo'), dan naar 'open photos' en kies vervolgens foto's van je computer.  Druk op 'layouts', ik heb hier gekozen voor Biggie Smalls. Dan ga je weer naar je eigen foto's door op 'images' te drukken (boven 'layouts').  Als je je foto wilt bewaren druk je op save en volg de instructies.
