Scotland Tweed

I saw this couch in a coffeeshop in Scotland. It's made of recycled tweed jackets and the fabric is still beautiful and special in colour.

Deze bank kwam ik tegen in een koffieshop in Schotland . De bank is gemaakt van gerecyclede tweed jasjes en de stof is nog steeds even mooi en bijzonder van kleur.

Vilt in de tuin

Deze hanging-basket zag ik in Schotland. In plaats van plastic, mos of kokus is de buitenlaag gemaakt van grote vilten bloemen.

I saw this hanging basket in Scotland. Instead of plastic, moss or coconut fibre, the outside layer is made of big felt flowers.

St. Andrews

In St. Andrews, waar Kate en Will gestudeerd hebben is het hele dorp in de ban van the royal wedding. Dit boek met de breipatronen van de royal wedding is heel grappig, Zie hier.

Glasgow

Deze oude naaimachines kwam ik tegen in een kledingwinkel in Glasgow. Alle muren en de etalages waren ermee gevuld. De onderste foto is vanaf buiten genomen, met de weerspiegeling van de stad in de ruit.

I found these old sewing machines in a store in Glasgow. All the walls and the windows were full of them. The bottom pictures was taken from outside, with the reflection of the city in the window.

Vilt borduren 3

Deze kat met kraag heb ik geborduurd op handgemaakt vilt.  Het roze garen verloopt van kleur. Ik heb dit garen gekocht in een winkeltje in Schotland, zo'n mooi winkeltje vol met borduurgaren, wanden vol. D.M.C. en Anchor maar ook handgeverfd garen van Caron zoals  Wildflowers en Waterlelies en Gloriana garen.

Het adres is he Grassmarket Embroidery Shop, 19 Grassmarket, Edinburgh. Zeker de moeite waard als je in de buurt komt.

I embroidered this cat with his collar on hand made felt. The pink yarn gradually changes clour. I bought the yarn in a shop in Scotland, one of those lovely little stores full of embroidery yarn, stocked to the roof. D.M.C. and Anchor, but also hand dyed yarn from Caron like Wildflowers, Water lilies and Gloriana yarn.

The address is the Grassmarket Embroidery Shop, 19 Grassmarket, Edinburgh. Definitely worth it if you're ever in the neighbourhood.
