Tutorial Shepherd's Knitting

A while ago, a friend taught me how to do shepherd's knitting, also known by other names such as Bosnian crochet. I could not find much about this technique in books or online, so I made a tutorial with pictures and explanation. This technique is an easy way to make gloves, for example. I don't use instructions, but amend my work while I'm working on it to get the right size. 

Een tijdje geleden heb ik van een vriendin de schaapherderssteek geleerd, ook wel bekend als onder andere Bosnian crochet of shepherd's knitting. Omdat ik hier erg weinig over kon vinden in boeken en online, heb ik een tutorial gemaakt met uitleg. Deze steek is heel handig om bijvoorbeeld wanten te maken. Ik gebruik geen patroon, maar pas mijn werk aan terwijl ik bezig ben om de goeie maat te krijgen.

Broomstick lace tutorial

Last Saturday I bought wool at the textile and fiber market in Doesburg. This wool is very good for the broomstick lace technique. I made a tutorial with pictures of the technique,  which you can find in the right column under Chapters.

Zaterdag wol gekocht op de textiel- en vezelmarkt in Doesburg. Deze wol is heel geschikt voor de bezemsteel haaktechniek. Ik heb een werkbeschrijving gemaakt met foto's  van deze techniek, nu te vinden in de rechter kolom onder Hoofdstukken.

 

Silk Paper Tutorial

Ik gebruik vaak zijdepapier in vilt en andere dingen. Het is heel makkelijk om te maken en je kunt het zo simpel of decoratief maken als je wilt. Ik heb een werkbeschrijving gemaakt met foto's om zelf zijdepapier te maken, nu te vinden in de rechter kolom onder Hoofdstukken. Ik vond het best lastig om nauwkeurig te beschrijven wat ik precies doe, en ik hoor het graag als iets onduidelijk is!

I often use silk paper in felt and other works. It's really easy to make and you can make it as simple or decorative as you want. I made a photo tutorial to make your own silk paper, you can find near the top  the right column of this blog. I found it quite hard to describe all the steps I take accurately, let me know if anything is unclear!

Boekjes

Ik ben wat dingen aan het uitproberen met restjes vilt. Dit zijn verschillende kleine boekjes. De onderste is het best gelukt vind ik. Daar heb ik een werkbeschrijving gemaakt, die staat onder 'hoofdstukken' aan de rechter zijkant, of klik hier.
