Here is another peak in our postcard project, which is always running quietly in the background. 

Roodborstje

Aankomend weekend is de jaarlijkse Tuinvogeltelling. Een half uur lang tel je alle vogels in je tuin, en de resultaten geef je door via de website, zie hier. 

Deze zit er van het weekend zeker nog wel, maar ik weet niet zeker of hij op de lijst staat!

This coming weekend is the national, annual, Garden bird counting. For half an hour, you count all the birds you see in your garden, and send your results to this website.

This birdie will still be there this weekend, but I'm not sure if he's on the list!

Vilt borduren, vervolg

Deze vogeltjes zijn ook geborduurd met de borduurmachine, ik kan niet meer zonder! Ik teken eerst wat ik wil borduren, dan scan ik het op de computer. Vervolgens zet ik dit met een computerprogramma om in een borduurbestand dat de machine kan lezen. Op deze manier kan ik alles zelf beïnvloeden, kleur, grootte en zelfs het soort steek. En dat met mijn derdehands borduurmachine!
 Het is ook heel leuk om oude lapjes vilt die ik nog heb liggen zo te gebruiken. Dit worden hoesjes voor bijvoorbeeld een telefoon, zie binnenkort mijn Etsy! Ik heb trouwens mijn Etsy winkel vernieuwd, neem gerust een kijkje!


I made these little birds with the embroidery machine, I couldn't do without anymore! First I draw what I want to embroider, then I scan it to the computer. A computer programme then changes this into a file that the machine can read. This way, I can influence everything in the process, from colour to size and even the stitch. And all that with my third-hand embroidery machine!
 It is also really nice to be able to use some old bits of felt that I have lying around. These are going to be covers for example for phones, check out my Etsy soon! By the way, I've added some stuff to my Etsy shop, feel free to have a look!

Vilten en borduren

Ik ben iets nieuws aan het uitproberen met een combinatie van stoffen. Ik zet stukjes vilt, velours en ook kleine breisels op verschillende manieren aan elkaar. Daarna borduur ik het, ook met verschillende technieken, zowel met de hand als machinaal.


I'm trying something new with combining fabrics. I stick bits of felt, velour and bits of knitwork together in different ways. Then I embroider the piece, using several techniques, both by hand and with my embroidery machine.
