A new card in the series 3 working with some coloured threads, fabrics and felt on a hand coloured background.
Starting off the picture is out of focus, but by adding embroidery I can add sharpness and definition to the shapes as I see fit.

Birds
Some time ago, I organized many scraps I have lying around according to theme. These scraps mostly appear when I am trying out new ideas.
One of these stacks, with birds and feathers, I wanted to bring with me on a little trip. I am curious what I can do there without my sewing machine and other supplies.
I will also bring Cas Holmes' book, The Found Object in Textile Art. Very inspiring but
I have not had time to read it properly yet.
Also very inspiring to me is Jude Hill. I took part in her amazing Magic Feathers project a few years ago, see this post, and I still like to embroider feathers.
Een tijdje geleden heb ik een heleboel van mijn proeflapjes op onderwerp opgeborgen. Deze
proeflapjes ontstaan meestal bij het uitproberen van een nieuw idee.
Eén van die stapeltjes, "vogels en veren", wil ik meenemen op reis. Ik
ben benieuwd wat ik hier mee kan zonder naaimachine en met beperkte middelen.
Mijn inspiratie komt ook van Jude Hill. Jaren geleden heb ik meegedaan aan haar prachtige Magic Feathers project, zie hier, en nog steeds borduur ik heel graag veren.

Een keer per maand komen we bijeen met een aantal viltsters uit Amsterdam in atelier Tetterode. Vandaag was het Willeke's beurt om de dag voor te bereiden. We hebben gevilt met een resist. We hadden een heerlijke dag.
