The boy with the birds.

 With a lots of techniques such as, embellishing, embroidery, knitting, sewing, applique and  some felting.

Embellisher

One of the nice things about felting with the embellisher is that I can use all kinds of material. For this piece I used fabrics like silk, organza and satin. I also used all kinds of wool, even wool that was wet-felted completely. To add things like velvet ribbon, which I coloured with Sharpies,  I used the sewing machine.

You can also see some embroidery by hand and some with the sewing machine.

Embellisher

I made another tower from felt, just like Tower 1 and Tower 2, but now on wheels. I have used a lot of different materials.

Ik heb een toren gevilt, net als Toren nr.1 en Toren nr.2  maar nu op wielen. Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van heel veel verschillende materialen.

Through one of the windows you can see the inhabitant peeking out.

Uit een van de raampjes kijkt de bewoner.

The bottom is lined with organza.

De onderkant is afgezet met organza.

Needle Pouch

To be able to bring my needles with me, I have felted a pouch from blue/green wool and decorated it with some silk paper that I made (see tutorial) and yarn.

Om mijn naalden mee te kunnen nemen heb ik een etuitje van blauw/groene wol gevilt en versierd met wat zijdepapier (zie werkbeschrijving) en draad.

This is the result after felting; to bring out the flowers better I have embroidered them. 

Dit is het resultaat na het vilten; om de bloemen beter te laten uitkomen heb ik ze nog geborduurd.
